Empowering Maryland's Cannabis Entrepreneurs: A Comprehensive Training

This course, for cannabis entrepreneurs, is designed to teach new cannabis license holders the key legal, financial, and operational strategies involved with launching and sustaining a successful, compliant business within the state’s social equity program. Topics to be covered include foundational business strategies, regulatory compliance, development of efficient processes and systems, marketing and customer engagement,  how to build a robust investor network, networking techniques, professional communication, and investor engagement.

Upon completion of the course, participants should be able to

  1. Explain how to choose and establish the appropriate business entity that aligns with regulatory demands and protects their business interests;

  2. Discuss effective strategies for financial management and capital raising within the unique constraints of the cannabis industry;

  3. Describe how to assemble and manage a skilled team that is equipped to handle the complexities of the cannabis industry;

  4. Describe how to set up efficient, compliant operations that align with Maryland's cannabis regulations, focusing on streamlined processes that minimize costs and maximize output;

  5. Discuss how to develop and implement comprehensive business strategies that align with operational goals and market demands;

  6. Discuss marketing techniques and customer service strategies to quickly establish a strong market presence and build a loyal customer base;

  7. Discuss how to leverage industry events, online platforms, and accelerator programs to connect with potential investors;

  8. Explain communications reflect professionalism and clarity, tailored to the interests and expectations of potential investors; and

  9. Describe best practices for keeping investors engaged with regular updates on your business's progress, milestones, and achievements.
